Food
We only use best local produce, from certified & organic farms and sea fare. We use mainly seasonal vegetables.
Photos show, platter of lamb with mushrooms & red cabbage, poached side of salmon, pasta & tomato with fresh basil, rib roast of beef, carved roast chicken with orange sauce.
We also cater for differing tastes and dietary needs. Please advise us of any particular dietary needs you may have.

Eating In!
We understand that some visitors may require an evening meal or a packed lunch during their stay with us and we will be happy to provide home cooked food by arrangement with our guests.
Our food is highly recommended and reasonably priced for the quality you can expect. We get high quality local farmed produce and the fish and shellfish supply is also exceptonal. All made with fresh ingredients. Home made soups, puddings and Orkney specialities.
Please be assured that we can put on a good meal or two at Castlehill and your hosts, Jim & Denise Campbell can provide you with a great personal dining experience.

Our kitchen is new and well provided for, using modern energy A+ efficent appliances.
We smoke our own fish, meats, bake most of our bread and our water comes from our own certified well. The water tastes great, is mineral rich & drawn from the water table under the heather peat moor at the back of the house. All our meat, poultry and fish are sourced locally from Orkney quality assured suppliers, each employing natural farming methods. It is our view and experience that Orkney home produced beef is the best and tastiest meat you can buy anywhere in the UK and we have it on our doorstep for you to enjoy.

If you fancy eating out, you won't go far wrong by looking on the Orkney Tourism website. The main hotels and restraunts provide a variety of local fresh food. Orkney also has some restraunts providing a good choice of international cuisine.more info...

Some visitors will want to eat out and experience our Orkney restaurants. Kirkwall, Stromness and many of the surrounding villages offer a good range and choice of food. Most places take pride in the quality of the food provided and we would recommend only those places we have been to ourselves and where quality and hospitality is paramount.
However, please note that table bookings for the best restaurants and hotel dining rooms are advisable in the summer months to avoid disappointment. We would be happy to advise you during your stay.
