Hot tub & Sauna room - latest developments & progress Jan 2012
2011-10-08
Our conservatory will contain our new hot tub & sauna.
Recently we finished Insulating & plasterboarding the roof spaces between the rafters & stained the trusses. It looks magnificent. Our recent building inspection passed the work todate.
Progress this week - electric cabling now installed and we have started plasterboarding the walls. The ceiling has been taped for plastering. Winter weather has eased after 10 weeks of rain & gusting winds and the blockwork finally started and is now up to cill level. Internal fitting is ongoing with very good progress achieved.
March schedule: When I get back from Kendal, we fit the cills & lintols, cut into the main house gable wall & fit a link door into new extension. Then we will install underfloor heating and screed floor area. Following on - Pipework for the shower, woodwork to form the shower space & finish boarding the walls - ready for wall & floor tiles, second fix joinery & decoration.
Finally, the tub and sauna will be installed.
We anticipate the commissioning of the tub to be done towards the end of April. The new facilities will be available after the tub has been commissioned by our supplier - Hot tub World, Huddersfield.
The conservatory overlooks our spectacular view of the North islands, sea and the Burgar Roust (a vicious tidal rip) and will provide splendid additional facilities at Castlehill. The sauna will accommodate up to 4 people and the hot tub up to 6.
When finished, the room will be approx 6.7 x 6.7 mtrs & give us enough space to grow some of our own fruit and salad vegetables in our planned hydroponicum area.
